What is it with Australians and wrist-watch phones??

Well SMS Technology is in the midst of dropping the "innovative" device (which many have tried to introduce, but all have failed.) So what's gonna make it work this time? Who knows...maybe the MP3 player and it's ability to use MPEG4 media files and 64 MB of RAM with its one inch LCD screen (cause at ONE inch it really matters).

So far it's set to retail at around $510 dollars...oh and it uses Bluetooth. Hmmmmm...I suddenly thought of Dick Tracy.

S.A.S, the duo comprised of Mega and Mayhem, hail from across the ocean in London, England, and are now ready to execute a new marketing campaign full force as a means to get the rappers some U.S attention. But don't be mistaken, S.A.S receives much US praise, especially since their recent team up with Big Mike in 2005 for a mixtape, "Coming To America," that made music history. The mixtape consisted of 22 tracks of new and original material and freestyles from the British bunch, a milestone for the mixtape scene to welcome foreigners. Riding the wave of success, Dipset is co-signing on the group's talent by welcoming them into Eurogang - an extension of Diplomat records, Dipset Europe.

To execute the US Britsh invasion plan, S.A.S. recently visited Atlanta. The trip went sour when Mayhem was involved in an attempted armed robbery just several hours before his scheduled flight back to New York City.

Not letting the incident knock the flow up, S.A.S will be hitting the US scene once again. Be on the lookout for S.A.S and Dipset's own Juelz Sanatana, who are said to be working on a mixtape.

I guess the Britsh ARE coming.

Who's getting tired of all these Lil' Wayne mixtapes? How many mixtapes with the SAME 'exclusive' tracks do we need? Fresh out the federal building to save us from a Wheezy overdose is Beanie Sigel. DJ Kool Kid strikes back with a unique mixtape.

"Return of the Broad Street Bully" is a mixtape chock full of Beanie Sigel classics, freestyle, cameos and so forth. Includes the gritty and grimy track, "Kiss Your Ass Goodbye" featuring The Lox, Fabolous and the BroadStreet bully himself. What kind of DJ would Kool Kid be if he didn't throw in "Feel it In the Air". This is a B.Sigel classic!

Also includes the bangers from the Roc-A-Fella era, like Guess Who's Back, Think It's a Game and a personal favorite, This Can't Be Life.

This is a mixtape that needs to be in your collection. For the Sigel fans and for the future Sigel fans; cop this one!

Huey explains the story behind the famed "Pop, Lock & Drop It." Did you know that a little girl created the hook? Watch the video and be up to date with Huey and his latest album.

Today's hip hop generation doesn't want to rock out to the "old cats." But let's keep it real, a little appreciation where it's due won't hurt nobody.

The topic on everyone's lips is the state of hip hop: Where is it going? Is it right to censor it? These are all rhetorical questions, meaning that a roundtable discussion can go on without any predictable ending. Still, one thing is certain, hip hop has left the nest and the parents are suffering the symptoms of empty nest syndrome. In come artists like Big Shug, member of Gang Starr, the super duo consisting of Guru and later instilling the legendary DJ Premier.

Is this project a direct action reacting to Empty Nest syndrome? Probably. Regardless, Big Shug is ready to put the past right where it belongs; behind him. Out this summer is Big Shug's album, Streetchamp, uses the age old formula that has worked for him before: yes, that means he teams up with colleague DJ Premier.

The beats are incredible, his flow is lazy. Not that it's a bad thing; it's just different from today's hip hop where artists are much more animated.

One would think that DJ Premier would be the star producer on this joint, but ironically Moss steals that spotlight with a few tracks that have great production like "What You Gonna Do."

Summing up the album, lets just say that I miss Guru's raspy voice on this album.

Ladies, get your nails did, your hair did and head to the club for some humanitarian causes. Theres a brand new liqueur hitting the nightlife scene called Nuvo For Her, a drink that gives back to the cause and also cures you of the stress that the work week brings.

Now you can satisfy your vice and give back to a cause, simultaneously since a portion of the proceeds of each bottle will go directly to women's causes.

Nuvo For Her looks like a perfume bottle you'd find at Macy's, but in fact it's a liquor that's targeting women. Its pink, its bubbly, its fruity...its bubbly vodka with a small dose of French sparkling wine and a touch of pinot noir.

...Sounds good to me. Now, if only the music on their website didn't sound like a soap opera theme.

Get a look into Huey's journal. His debut album, appropriately titled, "Notebook Paper" chronicles life in the St.Louis hood. From the parties (Pop, Lock & Drop it) to the heavy grind needed in order make it out the hood (When I Hustle featuring Lloyd), this album gives you a taste of each aspect of life, without the nasty aftertaste.

When Huey sings about hustling, he's being humble. In the game since the age of 15, Huey is now hustlin' hard with his own label, The Hitz Committee and his own artists, the Camp Boyz, a rap group that's soon to hit the scene. Huey is obviously working hard to garner respect.

The St.Louis native is reaching nationwide fame with the hit, Pop, Lock & Drop It, a song that got him signed to a major label. Although he hit the music scene with a catchy dance song, Huey is not another southern dance-crazed artist. Infact, much to my surprise Pop, Lock & Drop is the only dance track on the album. Huey reassured Mixtapekings.com that he's not letting the world pigeon-hole him as a Hip Hop dance artist.

Jay-Z said it best:
"You catch me front and center,
at the Knick game, big chain and all my splender."

If you can't afford to sit courtside at a Knicks game, then troop over to Dyckman Park.(Obviously, this is for my New Yorkers). The Dyckman Park tournaments take place all summer and are open to the public. The intensity of these games can't even be compared to the NBA games. C'mon, this is STREET basketball. Anything goes. By anything goes, I mean, drums, horns, flags, BBQ's, victory dances, DJ's spinnin', etc.

The Dyckman Basketball Tournaments are a summer-long fiasco that occurs every year and with each coming year has garnered the respects of many; from local New Yorkers to international celebrities, the Dyckman tournaments draws hundreds of spectators each summer.

Established in 1990, the tournaments do more than just showcase some talented players. Since 1990, the neighborhood surrounding Dyckman Park has seen decreasing crime statistics and provides recreational activities to the inner-city population.

So since the NBA isn't playing this season, get your basketball fix at Dyckman Park.
Also, at these games you'll find the Mixtapekings family alongside exclusive Mixtapekings DJ, DJ E-Tunez on the One's and Two's. This summer marks the second consecutive year that E-Tunez entertains the event by playing the latest hits.

"The atmosphere, its crazy, all kinds of people: young, old, latin, black. Also, the games, the street ball legends, NBA legends and the music is great," says E-Tunez about the tournaments.

Dyckman Park Tournament takes street ball to whole other level; it's more like a community block party rather than just a game.

Terror Squad Entertainment and Imperial Records officially announced that Fat Joe's hit single, "Make It Rain,'" has sold over 1 million ring tones, a statement certified by the RIAA.

Fat Joe's independent album Me, Myself and I reached a milestone for many artists going the indie route. The album reached number 6 on the Billboard R&B/Hip Hop charts, number 3 on the Billboard R&B/Hip Hop Album chart and debuted at number 14 on the Billboard Top 200 Album Chart.

"Fat Joe and Terror Squad Entertainment have been great to work with and are a prime example of what we can bring to a project," said Neil Levine, Imperial Records Senior VP/GM. "We bring the same pioneering spirit and dedication to quality music as the original Imperial, but with expertise and resources right for independent urban artists today. We have the advantage of being super-focused on finding and developing the most exciting music in the clubs and the streets, but also have access to major label resources. It's a great combination for our artists."

A perfect example of the underdog stealing the spotlight.

Hip Hop stars Too $hort and Dem Hoodstarz performed at a special function, Cure Autism Now, a charity event to help autistic children and their families by funding outreach programs and research. The benefit was held in California at the family friendly Playboy Mansion in Holmby Hills, California with over 600 guests and celebrities. The charity event hosted a fashion show and silent auction from the Celebrity Locker Room.

The guests were given a sneak peek into Too $hort's compilation album "I Love The Bay." The guests were one of the first few to listen to the next single "Video Vixen" by Dem Hoodstarz.

Megastars Michael Jackson, R. Kelly and more than a dozen music publishers have teamed up together against Jay-Z's 40/40 Club with a federal lawsuit which accuses the nightclub to be skipping out on music royalties.

The 40/40 Club is co-owned by Jigga and two other business partners. The trio has been accused of entertaining clubgoers with music that are not authorized "musical compositions," according to the lawsuit.

Broadcast Music Inc. is leading the charges on behalf of Michael Jackson and more than a dozen other artists and music publishing companies. Broadcast Music Inc. is seeking damages for copyright infringement from the club and co-owners Desiree Gonzalez and Juan Perez. Jay-Z is not named in this case.

This isn't the first time that the hot spot is hit with bad reviews. Celeste Williams, a former waitress at 40/40 accused the club of refusing to pay workers at the required minimum wage.

Jason Bourne is back with an ultimatum and yes he is still being sought after by the same old annoying members of the CIA (don't you just hate that!) who trained him to be one of the best assassins out there.

As he continues to suffer from his major case of amnesia, the story continues where it was last left off in 2004; Bourne is determined to figure out his real identity. So after being lured out of hiding by a snoopy reporter Simon Ross, who has acquired information about Treadstone (the classified organization that trained Bourne) and Bourne himself; the plot is set as he is determined to destroy those who did this to him and killed the love of his life.

As you can imagine, a huge search is ignited to find Bourne and Ross. Not by Pamela Landy who lead the search in the last film, but by Noah Vosen (a government suit) who is looking to launch a similar organization to Treadstone called BlackBriar (very briefly mentioned in the first movie...spooky).

So as it goes - Good guy versus bad government...or vise-versa.

Who will you root for?

Out in theatres August 3, 2007

Everyone who owns a blackberry understands how attached you become to that gadget. The world is literally at your fingertips when you own a Blackberry. Blackberry, the always so nerdy-chic, manages to keep getting better with time.

Blackberry recently launched the Curve, a new slim, sexy, chic and business savvy phone. The phone has all the features needed for fun and for functionality, meaning it has a camera (for the nights that become a blur thanks to shots of patron), email (to read those silly chain letters during boring meetings), media (video content is now available), and Blackberry maps (for all those egos that are too embarrassed to ask for directions).

The marketing slogan for this phone is "For The Well-Rounded Life" and we couldn't have said it better.

The power of Georgia is back with PSC and the introduction of the latest member - JR Get Money.

If your flavor is down south then this mixtape is definitely your cup of tea. There is some definite fire on this drop and it's to no surprise with over 30 hot tracks.

One of the funniest goes to Mac Boney's - "F**king DJ Skit". You know how it iz.

I don't care what anyone says...when Dirty Harry drops a mixtape you listen. He's the E.F Hutton of mixtapes. You can listen to the mixtape three times back to back to back and that fourth time you will hear some shit that you didn't hear before...that's called taking the time to truely perfect your craft. I've listened to Dirty Harry's first mixtape and I've listened to this mixtape and the one constant between the two is the creativity. The creativity has always been there from day one, he was doing things without the technology of today over 10 years ago that cats still can't do with that new technology right now...that's the mark of a legend.

I've had this project for a minute, even before it dropped and subsequently "leaked" on the internet. (DJs watch these people at the dup spots). I let it run its course so to speak. I've seen comments on message boards, blogs, and even Dat Piff. (laughs) The "art" of a DH project was def lost on some people and that's to be expected. Everything is "new, new, new"...the curse of the exclusive is what we'll call it. To be honest tho, the young "average" mixtape consumer these days is dumb as a bag of rocks. A true product of a overcrowded mixtape environment. I have people that email me from time to time about what mixtapes I think they should cop or what I'm listening to. This one young cat, when I said I was rockin' the new DH, said that he listened to it and it was OK, the colaborations were "nice" but he wouldn't give it much burn. I then told him that the "nice" colaborations were actually all put together and mixed by Dirty Harry. "These are not tracks he downloaded off the internet", I said. His reply was "are you serious?...that's crazy!" Suffice it to say dude went back and listened again and found himself what I like to call a "rare jewel". Now he's emailing me about the DH back catalog...and all it took was a lil schooling.

I'm not giving you mad highlights off this mixtape; its DH for christ sake so you know what to expect. Couple things I'll comment on tho. I know some cats were disapointed to hear a lot of "southern" type blends. I was mildly annoyed with that as well, but I "get it" and I still was rockin' to them regardless. That Intro alone was worth having to listen to Lil Wayne and lets face it, if I have to listen to Lil Wayne I'd prefer to listen to some DH Lil Wayne. If you cop the mixtape for one "blend" let it be for "All We Got Left". That blend alone is a production in and of itself to rival any song out right now. "Cocaine Make Me Better" is that shit, did you peep the subtle Scarface in the backround? Classic DH. That last "Rap Figures" was my shit tho, fuck that...made me want to go choke somebody out.

If it's one thing I would like to see Harry bring to the table more is the R&B. Listening to the early DH joints you def got more of the R&B sprinkled in and considering R&B is really shinning right now I think that would be a better listen as well has fill the void left by the overall lack of quality R&B blends in the game today. This overall project lacked that DH cohesivness, shit was a lil spotty concept wise with the movie clips and with a title like Warlordz it left a lot to the imagination. Thing is tho, I take what I can get and right now ANY DH mixtape is a welcome addition to the game. Can't wait to hear the next one.

Welcome Dre Robinson to the Rapmullet review section. Just so cats is clear the CD is hosted by DJ Radio and mixed by Nelly Protols...gotta let the DJs that credit too. For those that don't know Dre Robinson has been shinning for a minute out in Boston. Cats getting spins with Gee Spin on Jamn 94.5, I'm sure he got blasted off on the Launch Pad although I don't know if they still do that shit. The Buzz on Dre Robinson has been and is still real heavy; he's continuing to build that fan base while he prepares that debut album on Polly More Music Group. (www.pollymoremusic.com)

What's crazy about "This Is That (Oh My God)" is that once you hear it you know without a fraction of a doubt that Dre Robinson is a verbal weapon. It makes it a hard act to follow in my eyes because the track had it all: punch lines, energy, delivery, proper diction, and that classic Boston "I will beat the shit out of you" style...classic do dirt theme music. You could even say the same shit about "Run For Cover", that shit got Dre sounding borderline angry but he's def a focused MC. "Game Over" is that mixtape music I'm always looking for, to bad Mr. Robinson outshined everyone on that freestyle with ease batting clean-up. I know people are giving cats a hard time about reaching outside their region, especially to the south, but "Grain Grippa (remix)" was type fly. Shout to Cory Mo on the beat too. "Ghetto Mistress" with Remy Ma got a thick ass guitar sample in the beat. Mr. Robinson showing a lil versatility on here as well although that hook needed some work. Always good to see Murda Mass MCs working with each other, "Damage Is Done" got Ed Rock and Dre Robinson trading verses...this is that feel good music just like Radio said on the ad libs. Mad collaboration tracks at the end of the project. Colabo's are cool but I would have liked to hear Mr. Robinson go solo with some more introspective material, give the people that music they can relate to.

The sorry state of the major label business model is a welcome thing for indie artist like Dre Robinson. It should be interesting to see how his label handles the debut album; what avenues they choose to use to promote and get his music to the masses. He's been on the right path so far, building that fan base consistently over the years, doing quality shows ect. The money is still out there you just gotta give the consumer a reason to spend it. With all the talent out in Boston and the surrounding areas and the shift in the music industry for Hip Hop it's only a matter of time before the curse of the Boston MC is broken.

This was an important mixtape right here. Not so much for the music but for the morale of the mixtape game. I know the whole ordeal isn't over yet but I think we can all agree Drama has handled it extremely well. Through adversity can come great things and that's what I'm expecting from The Aphiliates. What impressed me the most was Drama on the intro..."I pledge allegiance to feed the streets for the rest of my life." Damn, that's a real statement right there and it's coming from the man that actually got caught up in that "situation"...all you other DJs who ran and hid must feel like a bunch of idiots. Too many fair weather mixtape cats out there messing up the game for the ones who really truely love this shit...like Drama.

Willie The Kid commanding that top spot on the mixtape like the lyrically superstar that he is. "Cockin' Them Thangs" is cool as a fan and that line..."hoes fighting all the time / tities fall out bra's"...had me rolling. That's the only reason to watch two chics fight, hopes that a titie falls out their shirt and by some miralce the chics start making out and the lesbo scene jumps off. WTK laced "Fully Loaded" too on that true school mixtape shit; the metaphors are flowing with ease from dude and that jab at Lil Stain was classic.

I'm def diggin' the mixtape interlude "Gangsta Grillz - The Movie". This is that shit that adds character to your mixtape and lets you take jabs at the any and everyone while keeping the shit all jokes. Those of you who read Rapmullet on the regular heard Doo Wop on "2 of Americas Most Wanted" but for those of you who didn't open your damn ears and see how a true "concept" track is made. One of the best tracks of the year so far.

Playaz Circle on "Duffle Bag Boys" got that crazy vibe to it and it sounds oh so good in the ride too. I'm fuckin with Gucci Mane on "Zone 6" too, cats got the Atlanta streets behind them like an army...you gotta respect that shit. The sleeper track of the whole CD is La The Darkman on "Keep On Talkin"; instant rewind in my ride with this one. This is that shoot up the police station music right here. The bass on "Gorilla Pimp" got my sub woofers doing jumping jacks in the back of my ride too. Don't sleep on Remo either with "I Bang".

I'm sick of cats saying mixtapes aint got nothing new on them, we we're saying that shit back in 2003, where the fuck were you? Oh yea that's right you didn't start listening to mixtapes till 2006 fucking new jack bangwagon ass nut huggers. It ain't about new it's about quality and exclusivity (is that a word?). Exclusive in the DJ Sense of the word that ain't nobody have the music before you. Drama is giving you that on here with WTK, LA, WOP and a couple others and for good measure he added a couple cuts, showed some skill and talked that shit like only he can do. Be happy, the sun is shinning a little brighter on this game right now...thanks Drama.

The Zorro of the hood, better known as Khao, a name that sounds silky smooth on all his trademark beats with a sexy jingle involving a girl in a low breathy voice saying, "Khaaooooooo." Listen to "Why You Wanna" by T.I. and you'll hear it. You'll also hear why this song is so important to Khao's career.

Khao's discography mimics that of a veteran yet continues to expand. He's responsible for spawning joints for artist such as Lil Kim, Paul Wall, Trick Daddy and Young Jeezy; still, Khao explains why T.I was the artist that helped catapult his career. Once the single, "Why You Wanna" hit the airwaves, Khao says the tables were turned. No longer was Khao shopping beats around, instead people were coming to him asking for a hit. No longer is Khao just the man behind the music. Sooner than later, Khao is debuting as a full-out artist with his own album that he produced and stars in as the main rapper as well.

That hit brought several awards for Khao, including the prestigious Billboard award and the Ascap Award for the number one song of 2006.

Khao's story embodies the truth behind the infamous phrase that everyone repeats to themselves when things aren't going their way. "Everything happens for a reason"; a phrase I'm sure many of us hear a lot, but never think too much about. For Khao, this couldn't be truer. Rewind back to 2004: T.I. just dropped Urban Legend, Khao produced two tracks on the album and his career was about to skyrocket. Universal Records was asking Khao for tracks, so accordingly, Khao asked for all his material to be packed onto a car to be driven over to Universal. In the process, the car was stolen, along with the producer's material including the two tracks for Universal.

In retrospect, the producer agrees that the experience was a blessing in disguise. "I was complacent before the carjacking," says Khao. As to not letting the crime knock him off his feet, Khao went back into the studio and began working on what would later become his trademark sound. Lacking all his equipment, Khao had to get creative. "I went back into the studio and made beats with my voice. That's why you hear vocal sounds in my music."
Today, Khao is working diligently on keeping his name relevant in the game.

Aside from his solo project, Khao is working with DJ Drama on Gangsta Grillz, a notorious mixtape series. It's no surprise that the two would team up. Both Khao and DJ Drama are Grand Hustle representatives. Khao, a self-proclaimed team player for Grand Hustle, gives me some insight on what went down when DJ Drama was raided by the RIAA for making music. "Just shocked!" says Khao about the arrest. "What? Drama ain't selling drugs," was Khao's first thought. Still, Drama's drama with the RIAA only fueled the Grand Hustle crew. "It just gave Drama a story. It fueled him."

Try catching up with Khao. His most recent work is featured on some of this year's most highly anticipated albums, such as R.Kelly's next single, Double Up, a track on Usher's upcoming highly anticipated album, the next single coming out of T.I.'s new album T.I. Versus T.I.P. titled "Watch What You Say' and the next single for Chris Brown's album.

Back from a slight hiatus, DJ Drama is grindin'. This time he teams up with P-Cutta to bring a mixtape strictly for the streets.

Glamorizing the hood life and bragging about guns, bullets and body bags is what this mixtape does best. Check out 50 Cent talking about his fully loaded clip and what'll he do to you with it. The Lox is back on a track titled...well, "We're Back."

If you like hard beats and hard rhymes, then this mixtape is just for you. But damn, where's the love?

GRIM TEAM, a bad ass collective of artists are following the footsteps of hip hop giants such as G-unit and Bad Boy with clothing labels and a musical team of grimy rappers.

Emerging in Paris, France circa 1996, GRIM TEAM was initially a crew of graffiti artists. In 2001, members of GRIM TEAM, Reign and Chaze executed an idea of becoming more than just a crew and so far their efforts have received praises from some of New York's hottest rappers. Hip Hop veterans such as Mobb Deep, the Beatnuts, Capone-n-Noreaga, Fat Joe and others have embraced the Parisian invasion by GRIM TEAM.

GRIM TEAM is now a force to be reckoned with. Carrying their own clothing labels, GRIM TEAM for men, GRIM Cherie (for the ladies), beat production, mixtapes and videos, GRIM TEAM are hitting the streets hard.

The latest effort from the GRIM TEAM is a mixtape album titled "Once A Upon a Time in America: The Prequel," featuring tracks from Saigon, Smiley The Ghetto Child, Milano, Ty Nitty, Tres Coronas, Willie the Kid and others.

Capitalizing on the beef that's present in Hip Hop, DJ Radio drops a mixtape segregating the rappers into North vs. South.

The first half of the mixtape is strictly for New York rappers. New tracks from LL Cool J, Stack Bundles, Jim Jones, Remo Da Rapstar, Cassidy and others can be found on this half.

The second half of the mixtape represents the south and of course there's no better way to jump into it than having Lil' Wayne as the starting player with a new track, "Its Time." The second half of the mixtape is hot...just like the South always is. Featuring new tracks from T.I., Da Shop Boyz, DJ Khaled , Three 6 Mafia and others, this mixtape represents North American hip hop in its truest state.

Still, don't think of this mixtape as a means to instigate the beef. Rather, think of it as a well rounded mixtape for your stereo. A little bit of this, a little bit of that. Variety is the spice of life, people!

A hood legend in his own right, DJ Dirty Harry always delivers a new classic. He's trademarked the concept of blends on mixtapes and is highly detailed in his craft, respectively. The production is grand, exemplary and always mastered down to a standard amongst the masses. Harry takes snippets of various songs, throws them on a new beat, and boom...a hit song that you won't hear anywhere else.

DJ Dirty Harry, already in the game for over 10 years is back from a short hiatus with a new project titled WARLORDZ. The project is packed with new, re-mastered work from Lil Wayne, Young Jeezy, Dramillz, Jane Nithrow, The Game, Jay-Z and others.
DJ Dirty Harry has garnered a favorable reputation with his past projects. In turn, Harry's projects are always highly anticipated, as is "WARLORDZ. His last effort, Unforgiven released in 2006, sold 20,000 units: an occasion that is rare in the music industry, especially in regards to mixtapes.

Harry is a frequently mentioned name at the honorable Justo Mixtape Awards. Harry was the recipient of the Justo Mixtape Brucie Bee/Starchild Achievement Award, which honors life achievements for DJ's. His mixtape 2Pac: Rap Phenomenon, a collaborative effort with DJ Green Lantern, won the duo a Justo Mixtape Award. Harry also received 'Mixtape of the Year" award from Vibe and XXL magazine. Aside from being a mixtape DJ Harry's production credits include the likes of Nas, Run-DMC and Alicia Keys.

G-Unit Books?

The G-Unit soldiers weren't lying when they bragged back in 2003 on their mixtapes about branching out onto other music non-related endeavors; "G-Unit sneakers! G-Unit books! G-Unit schools!"

They're sticking to their word by launching G-Unit books. Meta Smith, author of the blockbuster novels and "Queen of Miami" has officially been drafted by g-unit to pen the G-Unit books.
Smith was selected to write for G-Unit for her refined voice and visual images of life in the 'hood. The author has written a riveting street novel, a gripping psychological thriller, and a steamy erotica novella in the span of her short year on the literary scene.

The novel is described as "a neo-noir tale of betrayal and deception" which follows the life a good girl turned bad when she is caught in the middle of a bloody drug war.

Smith's title "Heaven's Fury" will be released in November 2007. Filled with intrigue, suspense and lots of drama, "Heaven's Fury" is bound to be another best-seller for G-Unit.
Smith joins street lit superstars Nikki Turner, Noire, K. Elliot, K'Wan, Mark Anthony and Relentless Aaron on the G-Unit Books roster.

B2K's rapper Lil Fizz is back from a hiatus. Lil Fizz was 1/4th of the major R&B group B2k, which took the world by storm. In 2004, the group went their separate ways. Once the group split Omarion took the spotlight as a solo artist. This time, its Lil Fizz's time to shine.

His debut solo album PayDay is set to release July 17th. The singles from his album includes a track titled "Beds" and another, "Car Wash," which is being considered the summer anthem of 2007. the song is not that 70's oldie song that we all know.

This song is about LA's car culture, explains Lil Fizz. "On Friday and Saturday, it's a ritual for everyone to go and get their car washed and make it look sharp. It's like a party; it's crazy. The music is bumping, the cars are all shiny and everybody's flossin' on Slauson. 'Car Wash' is for everybody, but it's gonna really make Cali happy."

Catch Lil Fizz as the opening act for Pretty Ricky as they tour the west coast this summer.

You can catch Fizz in the following cities: June 21-Bakersfield, Ca @ Fox Theatre; June 22-Anaheim, Ca @ The Grove of Anaheim; June 23-San Diego, Ca @ House of Blues; June 24-Ventura, Ca @ Ventura Theatre.

Is it possible for mixtape djs to go hollywood? It is, although I don't see Diggz doing that anytime soon cause the music selection on here is pretty much the same formula with a couple of exceptions. I would call out the Lil Wayne section on here but fuck it Diggz plays what he likes and he obviously likes that shit (although wack) so it is what it is but honestly those joints had no place on this CD...just gotta call it like I see it.

"NWA 2K7" is a wack ass title for a song but the song itself is crazy. Maino, Uncle Murder, Cassidy went in on this shit like fat doods on some free fast food. (aliteration people you gotta love it) What the fuck is "From The Ghetto" doing on here? This song is soft as hell. I thought this was a Diggz/Rated R mixtape instead we're getting "exclusive" filler from the net. If I wanted to hear this song I would have listened to DJ (insert any DJ who drops a mixtape every week on canal). I want that hot boiled crack poured in my ears not fluff-a-nutter with a glass of apple juice! Sheek with "2 Turntables & A Mic" was a good come back. At least Sheek holding down D-Block on that street shit. Max B over that "Luchini" joint was straight...can't go wrong with a classic beat tho. If you ain't fucking with "Fresh" then you're a lame. Ru Spits, SAS, Remo and Stack Bundles (RIP)...come on man, this track is NYC with a dash of the UK...classic. "Family" was a cool track, I thought with all that talent on there it could have been better...def sounded like it deserved the last slot on Fabs new album. Beanie Sigel came wack on "Philly Clubbin", shit was fluff. As for Philly MCs on this CD it was all Cassidy. "Retarded" is that mixtape music, we needed more of this on this project. I like what Mazaradi Fox is bringing to the table these days, he got Ru Spits on that "Freestyle" too. Ignorant music personfied and it sounds good as hell too! Nature is still slept on after all these years man. "The Sermon" got bars in it, props to Diggz for giving Nature that proper shine. I'll admit Canibus can rhyme but his diction on the MIC is boring and I def wasn't impressed with "Liquid Words". "See though your feces with telekinesis"??? Naw man.

I'd say this mixtape had some "potent" moments but as a whole the product was just "cool". Rated R o'ding on the talking a lil too, one to many shout outs for my taste. I always say the "exclusive" joints ride with the music out at the time and early with joints like "From The Ghetto" and Styles BET joint" Make Me Better" was soft like pillow...not what cats are used to from a Diggz/Rated R joint in my opinion. I still give cats props for finding those rare jewels like Nature and even Showtime who is hella slept in his own right. It's officially about to be summer after this week so I know cats like Diggz will be diggin' a little deeper for that good music that will be leaving outlines in the concrete.

Welcome DJ Wristpect to the Rapmullet.com review section. I'm def diggin' the fact DJs are continuing to really developing some dope mixtape concepts. This is Vol. 2 of "Bridgin The Gap". Vol. 1 was Toronto to NYC hosted by Grafh and this time out Wristpect is building that bridge to the Chi with Naledge hosting. We are def going to get into the formula of the mixtape some more, the skills ect but to be honest this project right here is what mixtapes are truely all about...broken down to the very last compound.

I don't know how many of ya'll heard "Go Ill" by Kidz In The Hall but the shit is literally "ill". I can def relate to the music man, cats just lyrically putting it all on the line...I like that shit. One thing you will notice about this project is that damn near every artist that gets a track played up on here intros their joints and thats one aspect where DJ Wristpect is setting himself apart from the mixtape pack. Its all about the relationship with the artist who in turn blesses you with the music and supports what the DJ is trying to do...that mutual give and take type thing. I've been fucking with Rashid Hadee from Chapter 13 for a minute now. I don't get to hear that much new music these days out the camp but cats like Mr Hadee don't come around too often with not only the bars but hitting the beats too. The converstational flow is the shit on "Surrender", dude got like a real mellow intensity on the MIC. Naledge hit you with that rewind track with "Clothes, Hoes, and Liquor". I'm telling you people longevity in hip hop is all about releating to the artist and Naledge stays building his fan base. Rich London with "Magazine Memories" was some slick shit; same can be said for Promise with "Listen". The project def had it's share of sleeper MCs. Daetona on that "Two Worlds Freestyle" was flipping words like crazy keeping that flow consistient. Miles Jones flipped some smooth shit with "Good Morning Sunsine"...def some feel good music for the soul.

You know how with some "pause" tapes after you listen front to back one time you get a vibe like you might actually be dumber or you just killed some brain cells off the ignorance. I'm all for ignorance, it's entertaining when done right by those who were built to make that type of music and it adds balance. I'm not gonna say I was smarter after listening to this mixtape a few times back to back but I was in a hell of good mood and quite introsepective after the fact. Add to the fact that DJ Wristpect is actually mixing and you got one hell of mixtape. Download the mixtape here and check the vibe and see if I'm lying.

All album release celebrations will be put to shame after ROCK THE BELLS takes over the nation. ROCK THE BELLS is a live artist showcase and a traveling festival, taking along some of Hip Hop's most notorious acts. And it just so happens that some of these artists have one thing in common: a highly anticipated, long over due album release in the works.

The ROCK THE BELLS tour supports hip hop culture at its core, all the while celebrating milestone releases from artists. This year, half of the participating acts are awaiting highly anticipated album releases. Highly anticipated is an understatement, especially when we're talking about UGK, releasing their first album in over 5 years, alongside a Wu Tang Clan reunion album, after a six year hiatus. Also, Pharoahe Monch's Desire, Talib Kweli's Eardrum and David Banner's The Greatest Story Ever Told.

There is no other hip hop music festival more vital to the artists, community, and fans it serves than ROCK THE BELLS," states festival organizer Chang Weisberg .We want to build an annual event in all of these cities to serve their musical communities and prove that quality hip-hop is NOT dead. Actually, over 130,000 people have already disproved the notion and bought their tickets. By the end of the summer, over 200,000 fans will have voted that quality lyricism and deft live performances are still very much alive."

Cop tickets now and experience history in the making.

Does DJ Silva Sir-Fa sound familiar? It's because he saved planet earth from the evil doer Galactus. OK, so not really, but DJ Silva Sir-Fa is here to serve you with a new mixtape, The Rise of DJ Silva Sir-Fa, with exclusives from Noreaga, Black Rob, Camp-lo, Gillie Da Kid and others. The mixtape features blends from Sir-Fa as well as intros, outros and freestyles from some of the aforementioned artists.

Sir-Fa got his start as a DJ on WNWK 105.9 FM and recently served as Music Director for the first annual Rapathon, a 24 hour record-breaking emcee cipher.

As the title of the project suggests, DJ Silva Sir-Fa, like the Marvel comic book character proves what it is to be on the rise and finally get recognized. Check out the actual comic book hero (sorta) in the new Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.

Yea, you heard right. Fabolous jumped on the bandwagon by creating his own clothing label and its creating quite a buzz. Huey puts cities all over the world on lockdown with his hit single "Pop, Lock & Drop It". Ready to strike while he's hot, Jive Records is getting ready to drop his debut album "Notebook Paper" which will be available June 19.

Huey is not the first talent to hail from St.Louis or the first to try and put a region on the Map. St. Louis has often been criticized as being one of the softer areas for Hip Hop, but Huey is hoping to change all of that. Huey has brought you more than dance tracks this time.

This album is another side and sound of Huey, with tracks based on the raw, straightforward stories about street life as seen through his eyes.

"Notebook Paper" is packed with guest appearances from artists such as Lloyd, who was featured on the 2nd single released called "When I Hustle." The album also features the "Pop, Lock & Drop It (Remix)" with Bow Wow and T-Pain.

J Dilla lives on through his resonating music. Passing in 2006, J-Dilla's devoted fans still anticipate new projects from the deceased musician. The newest J- Dilla project to hit the streets is Jay Loves Japan.

The album features emcees rhymin' over J Dilla's beats. The production on the album was meant for an instrumental album, but after his passing that idea transformed into an honorary collective of emcees with production by J Dilla.

The album has a series of videos for the instrumental version of each track on the album. All videos are available on www.Dilla.biz.

Dead Beats!

DeadBeat Parents - I am the first to say this topic isn't only subject to Dad's because I know there are some dead beats Mom's out there as well. I cannot comprehend why it is so hard to be a decent human being and do what's right for your kids. You made them, now you can't take care of them? I don't mean just in a financial sense but an emotional and physical one as well. . Maybe next time you should wear a condom or just stop whoring yourself around and making twenty kids (Census Bureau is watching!) I have a problem with people who swear they love their kids and yet emotionally abuse them by drinking and showing their kids their own addictions. These kids are growing up with so many issues and most of them stem from watching what their parents have done. You want to kill yourself slowly, by all means Bon Voyage but don't take your children down that road with you.

I cannot fathom how any person could just not give their all to a life that they have created. If you have problem go get help and straightened your shit out; if not for you then for your children. We have enough fuck ups in this world already don't teach them to grow up and be another statistic. They deserve much better than that.

DeadBeat Spouse or Boyfriend/Girlfriend- If you are year after year sitting on your ass, Go get a damn job!!!!. Sitting back and watching a woman work 10 hour days, come home and cook and take care of the house and children while your lazy ass is watching novellas and MTV and drinking all day and shit is not a man to me. You should be spending that time looking 24/7 out in the field or calling places for a job or at least get a damn interview and follow through. Show some damn initiative and compassion for the person or people in your life that you supposedly care about! My ladies if you have a good man that works and takes care of you help him out from time to time. Help yourself and become independent a little. Life is too short to be wasting it away. Make some moves people and enjoy the blessings that life has given you. Make the most of your time here and the time with the people you love because we are not promised forever. Make it count!

ConcreteLoop.com keeps me distracted. Great...thanks guys.

Think of them as the tabloid, US Magazine for the colored folk. This website doesn't bombard you with images of the Lindsay's, Paris's and Nicole's of the world. I mean really, how many times must we see them shopping, or eating a huge burger. We know you're not anorexic! We get it already.... It's the lines of coke, not the lack of food.

So back to Concrete Loop....they post news, gossips, images, interviews and other funny stuff regarding your favorite rapper, or R&B singer, or actors.

They recently posted candid photos of Timbaland leaving a bar after a brawl that got him arrested in Germany. Where else would you see this? Really, tell me. Go ahead, I'll wait....

Music collaborations featuring the most unlikely of team ups are becoming the trend these days. This one here has to be the most unusual combination as of yet. Enrique Iglesias has been in the lab with none other than the self-professed King Of Hip Hop, LiL Wayne.

I was confused by the news myself. Iglesias and Hip Hop? I guess anything is possible. The two met and decided do a track together for Iglesias' new album "Insomniac".

The track is titled "Push" and with lyrics like these: "You got to push push back upon me/ Make me believe you wanna" and with the overly done synthesizer, it is definitely different than the normal ballad we are used to hearing from him.

As 'WTF' of a union as it is, it's a smart business move on both ends to try appealing to the two fan bases.

This is of course not going to give Enrique any hood credibility, but it will definitely give Iglesias and Wayne props to have the cojones to attempt it.

We all remember those three scruffy, hard-ass, rowdy Irish wanna be thugs, also called House of Pain. In all truth, they are the reason I developed a thing for white guys. I figured if he's white my dad won't mind that he's a thug.

The group formed in the early 90's and in 1992 dropped their first album, House of Pain, which gave us the catchy anthem "Jump Around". That song that followed us EVERYWHERE and tt helped push the whole "Kiss Me I'm Irish" fad...which was annoying.

I will admit the song was hot, though. It was different and it made a statement - white boys can't jump but they can rap. And they were magically delicious 'till lead rapper Everlast decided to take off and do his own thing.

Oh well. Don't feel so bad. The song became the unofficial national anthem for all the St. Patty's day drunks (which is every one, not just the Irish.)

Watch the video here.

This is not a new story but figured most of you New Yorkers might not know this piece of yummy news: summer is here and no doubt, it is hot like fire outside. Ice Cream sales have gone way up, coinciding with those increasing temperatures.

You know the hood is filled with ice cream trucks on every block these days. What if your hood had an Ice Cream flavor named after it though? Interesting isn't it? Well it's a reality and it's made by a company called 5 Boroughs Ice Cream.

The company is the brainchild of fellow New York couple Kim and Scott Myles. They wanted to bring the diversity and uniqueness of New Yorkers into their ice cream as a tribute to New York after 9/11. So you know there has got to be some interesting flavors in that store!

Currently 5 Boroughs sells some boldly named flavors: Bay Ridge Amaretto Amour, Astoria Bakla-Wha?!, Staten Island Land Fill, the South Bronx Cha Cha Chocolate, Rich White Vanilla, NYPB, Mangodesh, Amoretto Amore and SoHo. For this couple, life is all about New York. Names like Holy F'n Cannoli and Potholes & Cream truly grab the essence of gritty Gotham.

There are more flavors in the works, and the couple encourages suggestions on their Web site, so check it out for more info. www.5BIcecream.com

Today's Rap & Hip Hop Artists are under a microscope and on the defensive these days. Constant complaints about what their songs are about, their bold lyrics and videos and it's lack of substance in the music.

Some old-schoolers want to remind you of what Hip Hop was back in the day. In comes Tools Of War, an organization created to bring back the true essence and spirit of Hip Hop. Amongst their several projects, Tools of War throws parties in New York City much like the ones in the 1970s and 80s; the time in which Hip Hop was birthed.

The project was co-founded in 2003 by Jorge "PopMaster Fabel" Pabon ( Rocksteady Crew/ Universal Zulu Nation/B-Boy Godfather) and Christie Z-Pabon. Tools of War has put together a 2007 season of free parties to last throughout the entire summer. All of you cheapos can now party for free and jam to some old school while you get your tan on.

This month is marked the "Turntablist Sessions" and it is held every Thursday at Queensbridge Park in Queens (Duh, where else would it be?). The Turntablist Sessions look to celebrate and focus on old school DJ's at these get-togethers.

Among those who will be there are Rob Swift (X-ecutioners) and GrandWizzard Theodore (scratch father) and they will play on various dates. Also in June is the one-time-only Digger's Delight party at Harlem's St. Nicholas Park. The June 20th event will feature Diggin' in the Crates Crew's Lord Finesse spinning records, and more.

For a Calendar of the events and some more info please check out their page at

Blin Blineo Concert is the hottest concert of the year in which Latino superstars are showcased. Artists such as Don Omar, Wisin Y Yandel, Victor Manuel, Hector Acosta, Notch and plenty others perform their hits alongside hosts from New York's premier Urban Latino radio station La Kalle 105.9. Saturday, June 9th, Blin Blineo went down again as the concert of the year. Read on about two Mixtapekings staff members telling you what went down:

Under a cloudy sky on a breezy June evening at Shea stadium, which began to slowly trickle in with Latinos, the crew from the radio station La Kalle 105.9 introduced the rising talent - Notch, as he opened "Bling Blineo" - a concert focusing on the reggaeton genre. Dancing around the stage performing his hit "Dale Pa Tra", a blend of reggaeton and reggae, Notch was a refreshing introduction into the night.

Hector Acosta followed suit. At the end of his set, as he was walking off stage, the crowd wanted more. After rising to our feet with repeat chanting of, "Otra! Otra! Otra!" showing him nothing but love, an overwhelmed Hector walked back toward the crowd , got on his knees and kissed the ground and proceeded with another song.

Jowell Y Randy stepped it up next with their hits "Soy Una Gargola" y "No Te Veo," which included guest performances that got the crowd pumped. So enters Tito "El Bambino" performing "Siente El Boom" with all his dancers. At the end he shows love to Puertoricans, Dominicans, and Columbians by kissing their flags and giving the crowd a bow. Of course "El Father" would come after "El Bambino". Hector wowed the crowd with a set of his best work and brought out his protégée Yomo.

This was followed by the moment all the women in the crowd were waiting for (including me) - Wisin Y Yandel performed to a crazed crowd that only got crazier as their set continued especially when the synthesized beat of "Rakata" engulfed the stadium. With all their dancers, the glitz, and the lights, we were not ready to see them leave and so, the crowd pleaded - "Otra! Otra! Otra!" The duo looked behind them, signaling the DJ to play another one...and not just one but two songs including "Burn It Up".

Victor Manuel took it down a notch with his smooth voice that made some women want to charge the stage to hump his leg. The audience rose to their feet the moment the blow from the trumpets hit the air with the rhythm of one of his biggest hits - "Volveras" (not that there was room to salsa dance but people found a way). The crowd gave him a break as we took over singing it for him (I mean we knew ALL the words.)

The King of Kings, Don Omar finished the evening...or I should say night (damn it was like 12:08 A.M). After his big entrance and a few of his hits, the King brought back out Wisin Y Yandel to help him out on songs like "Myspace" (Yey!) Don finished his set with my favorite song, "Ayer La Vi."

Lasting over five hours long, the crowd of proud Latinos didn't give a damn about the amount of time. It was our day this evening. And what an evening it was!
- Isabel Arreaga

What a spicy day at Shea stadium. No, I did not come to see the Mets, as I am a hard-core Yankee fan. So yes, I went in there representing with my Yankee cap on, ready to enjoy and see the new generation of urban music entertaining many of the beautiful ladies in the crowd. I say ladies because the men were outnumbered at this event.

I personally wanted to see Wisin Y Yandel, the dynamic duo -who moves the crowd every time they perform nationally and internationally- perform their collaborative hits with Daddy Yankee, whom was supposed to perform as well but for health reasons could not make it. (Boooooo!) Also, Don Omar who closed out the show with a bang; like the king of kings that he is. Wisin Y Yandel even have songs with R. Kelly which really made them cross over to the R&B side of things.

Another thing I was really pleased with was a Bachata performance by one of the best, Hector Acosta aka El Torito. His performance was flawless; I thought I was hearing him on CD. I think he brought the Latino out of us, reminding us that our music from our culture is still alive as well. Victor Manuel also blessed us with some salsa getting all of us off of our feet and moving that booooty!

I was pleased to see many young folks enjoying these old school cat's. It looks like this generation can still appreciate our parent's music; not to say that music was that old but reggaeton is music for the youth. Reggaeton is a genre that is really dominating the radio airwaves and the video countdowns.

Over all this was a great show at Shea Stadium with a 30,000 crowd capacity of people of different latino ethnicities.

Reggaeton, WOW, how sabroso it is!
- Diony C.

Everlast may not be a name familiar to some of you, but for most, there was a time when you sang along with him word for word to "Jump Around" as a member of the now defunct nineties group, House Of Pain. Everlast first came on the scene in Los Angeles as a member of Ice-T's Rhyme Syndicate Cartel, releasing his debut album, Forever Everlasting, in 1990.Unfortunately the name didn't fit the popularity of the album and it was a complete failure. When the album failed he tried to gain more mass appeal and formed House of Pain with Danny Boy and DJ Lethal; basing the image of the group on the trio's shared Irish roots. Facing stereotypes against white rappers they proved the haters wrong and beat the odds against them. The trio scored a huge hit with their 1992 single "Jump Around." Their self-titled debut LP also went platinum, but when their next efforts, including 1994's Same as It Ever Was and 1996's Truth Crushed to Earth Shall Rise Again failed to top House of Pain's early success, the group fell apart.

Everlast did a quick rewind back to his solo roots, but while recording for his new project, Whitey Ford Sings the Blues, he suffered a massive cardiac arrest due to a congenital defect, resulting in heart bypass surgery and an artificial valve implant. While still healing he managed to finish the album in 1998. The album hit the Top Ten, went platinum and launched the top 40 hit track "What It's Like".

Everlast then appeared on Carlos Santana's album "Supernatural". With all the success he began another album, "Eat at Whitey's", featuring guest artists and released it in 2000. Although the album received a lot of criticism, backlash and wasn't as successful as his previous efforts, he began his work on his next album. In 2004, he released "White Trash Beautiful".

Stack Bundles, a New York rapper hailing from Queens and member of the infamous Byrd Gang was shot and killed this morning (June 11th) in New York.

Stack Bundles was shot and killed in front of his home. Details of the murder are still unknown.
Bundles was part of DJ Clue's Desert Storm and later joined Jim Jones and his Byrd Gang. He recorded with various artist, including Fabolous, Joe Budden, Juelz Santana, Jim Jones and others.

An abode for over priced, attitude ridden t-shirts...and we're addicted. Oh, and on the verge of an overdraft.

Personal favorites are from MOB. No need for flashy graphics. A few cuss words (and those who know me, KNOW how much I love cursin'), bright colors and cocky attitude is all these t-shirts have. And we love it.

Their sense of humor is apparent in the clothing as well as on their "About Us". Here are some things they are saying about themselves:

Tenet 2: Women's clothing shall not exclusively be a) pastel, b) tight, or c) frilly. For that, there is Bebe.

Tenet 8: There are other countries besides the United States, and they make really nice clothes.

How many of ya'll used to slang? Don't front you know you were slangin' something; whether it was weed, guns, t-shirts, CDs, cigarettes, women or cars. We all know what Chuck T is slangin' right? Down South man, he slangin' that down south. You know who else is trying to slang' that down south? A whole lot of NYC mixtape cats and they need to stop! Cats is flip flopping like a presidential canadate who just got a big check in the mail. See the thing is if the South wasn't poppin' like it is and NYC was back ruling the game you know what Chuck T would be slangin'? He would still be slangin' that Down South cause that's what cats are all about. No flip flop, just a genuine love for their regions music and a desire to let cats get heard.

The old boy Trae is hosting so you know he gonna a couple "oh shit" tracks on here. It was Brandon D on the intro tho that set shit on fire with that freestyle. There ain't nothing like a custom made intro freestyle to set off a mixtape. Getting back to Trae tho, "Throwaway" got that energy that cats fiend for. I can't really fuck with Yung Joc too tough but Gorilla Zoe murdered this beat. "Check It Out" with damn near the whole Swisha House on it got me on that feel good music. I'm not really checking out Swisha House on some lyrics but they churn out that feel good music for your ride like its nothing. Plus I ain't heard this track on nothing else either which is a good thing...means cats is getting that exclusive shit. I know cats are fucking with it but "Brown Paper Bag" doesn't really move me...one too many MCs on here if you ask me. Trae bringing that true mixtape music to the table with "Rockin". The flow on the second verse is crazy like cat shit man, Trae is a beast! Don't sleep on Spark Dawg with "Dial Tone", dude can make an anthems with ease. "Take That" was the pefect exit to the CD cause it left you wanting to hear more Trae and that's how it should be mixtape wise helping to build that anticipation.

Why do you think Chuck T is winning right now and all the doubters got put in their place? Consistiency people. Chuck not only drops consistiently good product he's a student of the game. He's got a plan and he's executing it. If you got no plan then you're just dropping mixtape for the hell of it. Chuck has developed a couple key mixtape concepts/series that not only continue to push his name but the names of others in his region that need to be heard. That right there people is called Down South Slangin'.

Who doesn't dig the title of this CD? If you don't already know about Bango then you're asleep zzzz...wake the fuck up! . As for Ketch Phraze I don't thing cats are ready. These two MCs flip words like IHOP flips pancakes. The other thing is the beats. DJ Exclusive got an ear for this shit man which is rare for an A&R in 2007. Industry dudes now a days are too worried about looking pretty at industry events trying to sell dreams. Cats need join us down here in the dirt, listen to some good music and get fucked up. DJ Exclusive is down here but where is everyone else?

Once you hear Rude Jude on the intro say he jerks off to crack heads getting banged out you know you're in for something next level. "Let It Out" was straight, def a polished track but the shit that got my attention was "The Future". That vibe of that beat is ill, some true to life block music. Ketch Phraze said:"I go beyond the head of the critics / they call me the future". I got a couple favorite tracks on here and "Hey You" is one of them. "I got a neighbor built like Buick LeSabre / ass is so fat it's like her back's in labor." Hahahahaha, see thats the type of humor you find on here but cats are stringing bars together so well you have to admire the MIC skills...and that hook too. "One" is another track to vibe too. Not only is that a crazy vocal sample right there but cats switched gears on the flow too...Ketch Phraze ate that shit up. "Let Em Bang" is that pure mixtape music, that shit to make you run over small animals in your ride. The versatility doesn't stop..."Things Ain't The Same" is that slow flow, slow hook etc, all while Bango and Ketch Phraze get introspective. If there was one song that I aint' really fuck with it was "When You Hear That Sound". The rhyme was cool but the hook was just flat like flip flops on fat bitches. Rude Jude said and I quote: "I ate a bitch out on her period just met her that night...mouth taste like a fist full of penny's". Hahahahahahahahhahahahahah. I like how they rep'd on "The Mitten Comes First" showing respect to the surrounding areas in Michigan. That all goes back to lockin' down your region.

If you like listening to straight bangin' ass, funny ass, introspective raw hip hop music then this is the CD for you dick head. DJ Exclusive with his ear on the beats, Bango and Ketch Phraze with the words, the flow, the humor and Rude Jude going to pick up hookers..how bad can the CD be? No bullshit tho Bango and Ketch Phraze got bars and the presence to truly be the future of this shit.

Don't call it a mixtape. Khaled drops a full-fledged album, We The Best with several producers and artists on it. Easily the album of the summer, DJ Khaled's new album features all the joints that will be remembered as "the summer of 2007".

His debut album Listennn: The Album took over the country with classics like "Grammy Family," and "Holla At Me." Last summer, Khaled had the entire nation yelling his trademark phrase; "Listennnnnn." This year, expect to hear "we the bessssst" on everyone's lips.

We the Best has already caused quite a stir with "We Takin Over" and "We Takin Over (remix)". Expect more trouble from Miami-raised DJ with songs like "Brown Paper Bag" "S On My Chest and "The Originators".

We The Best out June 12th

Being cool isn't about the sneakers on your feet. It isn't about the car you drive, or the diamonds on ya neck, di-di-diamonds on ya neck.

It really boils down to the risks you take, the difference between you and thousandth of others just like you. Companies are searching for a way to be cool so that in return they can find a way to make money.

Companies like Nike and Target, consumer items like the iPod, the bottle of liquor that automatically give the illusion of higher stature; they all have one thing in common and that is the ability to be trendsetters. And that my friend, is cool.

Book Description:
Cool isn't just a state of mind, a celebrity fad, or an American obsession -- it's a business. In boardrooms across America, product managers are examining vodka bottles and candy bars, tissue boxes and hamburgers, wondering how do we make this thing cool? How do we make this gadget into the iPod of our industry? How do we do what Nike did? How do we get what Target got? How do we infuse this product with that very desirable, nearly unattainable it factor?

This book explains the phenomenon behind the "cool" factor.

Chasing Cool (Book)

What inspires people to make movies such as Miami Vice or the holy grail of Drug movies Scarface? The real thing.

"Cocaine Cowboys" is the true story of the cocaine trade of the 80's that took the world by storm (and many lives with it). What was once an abundance of marijuana trading and using during the 1970's quickly turned to snow when Columbians took note of the demographic in southern Florida and started a wild fire with cocaine.

Cocaine was everywhere, clubs - some of which purposely invested on mirrored tables for more connivance to partiers, restaurants - where you had the wait staff helping you cut lines. Lawyers, doctors, The Greatful Dead, football teams: the Oakland Raider & Pittsburg Stealers had the blow delivered directly to them.

Griselda Blanco aka La Madrina (God Mother), aka The Black Widow, married the leader of the cartel and after his murder took it over.

"The Godmother...makes Tony Montana look like Mother Teresa;" and that's no joke, this woman is the epitome of gangsta. Cross her and she'll chop your ass up into pieces, stuff you in a box and wrap a bow around it, claiming "that's the way I do my thing".

She had enlisted a crew dubbed The Cocaine Cowboys, which took care of all the dirty work. The cocaine epidemic was so extensive there were at least two cocaine related death a week. The Florida Federal Reserve Bank at one point had a $5 billion surplus, more than all the Federal Reserves combined. This was serious, Times magazine even named Florida "Paradise Lost" and with reason. The Columbians made more money than the mafia ever did (so they say)

Speaking of the mafia, Griselda's youngest son was named Michael Corleon. Sound familiar?

Fabolous - From Nothin' To Somethin

On May 30th, Mixtapekings.com, Rapmullet.com and friends celebrated the movement. Such an event is a symbol of the persistence and longevity of the hip hop culture, regardless of obstacles (DJ Drama and the RIAA, anyone?) We'd like to send out a warm thank you to everyone who attended, everyone who performed and all of the sponsors. Special shout out goes to the Shop Boyz who literally shut the stage DOWN!

Special Thanks to:
Vitamin Water, Giant Magazine, Hpnotiq, Puma, LIFEbeat, Clubplanet.com and Lil Shawn and Dominique Andriese for keeping the crowd entertained, DJ Kool Herc, DJ Soul

Read on for some personal highlights from the Mixtapekings family

Watching the Shop Boyz perform "Party Like A Rockstar," and finally getting to see Dujeous, had to be the highlights of my evening. It was a total surprise to see the Shop Boyz go on stage... And Dujeous, I really loved their mixtape... and getting to hear them live was definitely worth the wait.
-Monica Nova

I have to say that I had a few highlights. I loved the surprise perfomance by Shop Boyz. I was going crazy when they were performing! I also loved Dujeous, they are a kick ass band; Serious Jones, Ron Browz & Jae Millz, Jaden and all of the other performances and seeing my Dom Dom holding it down on stage where she belongs in the spotlight. The ultimate highlight I have to admit was watching the Mixtapekings(My Queens) doing their things that night and making it such a memorable night for everyone. I was so proud to be part of such a great team and family. I love my MTK family!!!!!!
-Ronelle Levy

Albert Daniel aka Brooklyn from ATL the movie stopping by to support the movement was off the chain. If you don't know, reacquaint yourself with the actor and watch ATL. I also loved Nina B. The only female in a show FULL of males, but she managed to SHINE. Her energy on stage surpassed a lot of the dudes. Sorry guys, the females reign once again.
-Glenny Cruz

And the hostess with the most-es, Dominique Andriese:

Wow what can I say! The Mixtapekings.com Re-launch event was a success, and more!
Looking from my eyes you would have seen fellow hip hop lovers, creators of good music, executives, poets; a creative folk, filling the room. Damn it was an historic moment for me, point blank!

Being a host was so rewarding because not only was I apart of the planning process, but in fact, having the honor to MC was mind-blowing. I'm such an emotional person that it was a rush of emotions all balled into one because I knew what was needed to pull off a great show, and yet not show it on my face while hosting. Like they say, "The show has to go on!"

I want to again thank our sponsors Hpnotiq, Vitamin Water, LifeBeat, my oh so handsome and knowledgeable host Lil Shawn (Terrence and Rosci, ya'll better watch out hehe), to the Talent--- MAN... no words, and thank you most importantly to the MTK Queens and Kings. Our event could not have been what is what without YOU. So take this time to pat yourself on the back because you deserve to.

Can't stop the movement because it's only the beginning, we making history baby!

Stay tuned for the photo gallery...

I guess sex does sell. In this case, sex pays. And it pays big time. As some of us may know, Ray J was caught with his pants down (literally). Yeah, Brandy's little brother isn't little anymore ( in any sense of the word). Homie and Kim Kasjdadasdzdhgashf taped themselves during their most intimate moments (yeah right). And yes, we took a few moments out of the day to watch and giggle over it. (And what was with the editing? It was literally bad porn). During the ordeal we noticed Ray J didn't have a condom on. Yuck! (I SWEAR we weren't all up in it like thaaaat). So of course we took the liberty to preach to Ray J (or rather the screen). I mean, you don't stick your hand in a hot oven with out an oven-mitt 'cuz you might get burned!

And so, as the story unfolds, it seems that Ray J, Mr. Oooh baby I like it Raw, is being offered a deal from none other than Trojan Condoms. Is it messed up that someone is being rewarded for going unprotected? I'd like to think that maybe Trojan is just hooking him up with a life supply of condoms. Cuz' lord knows homeboy needs one.

And Kim, darling, step your game up. Ray J was working hard and you laid like a dead fish, too busy posing for the camera.

Note: Kim's real name is Kim Kardashian....not that jumble we wrote. We just playin' ya'll!

DJ Kool's 1996 hit "Let me clear my throat" is GREATNESS!!!!.

"Some of y'all might know this, and some of y'all don't (jamjam)
Some of y'all might be with this, and some of y'all won't
But listen, let me clear my throat
Oh, have mercy babe, Ha!
I hope ya don't mind, let me clear my throat."

There is not a club or party that doesn't throw this track on when they wanna get things poppin'. He wasn't one to preach or tell a story, his intentions were solely for making your asses get to the dance floor and shaking what your momma gave you (Or whatever parts you enhanced).

DJ Kool (Born John W. Bowman, Jr.) started out as a warm-up DJ for Rare Essence, until he was picked up by CLR Records and began warming up his own crowd. Kool began recording in 1988 and he definitely brought the energy that the music scene needed.

Fusing the sounds of D.C.'s go-go circuit and Hip Hop he created a funky innovative style all his own. In 1992 Kool took his bad ass funk to the stage with the mini album version of " 20 Minute Workout" recorded live in Virginia, and released on CLR Records. By the time of 1996's Let Me Clear My Throat, hit the airwaves, the East Coast underground was buzzing about this floor-filling DJ. American Records won a bidding war for the track and reissued Let Me Clear My Throat early the following year; Funkmaster Flex spun it out his style with a hot new remix along with Mark the 45 King (Whose funked out "The 900 Number" was the song that this track was based on) and helped it reach the top five on the rap charts.

On the entertainment music front, there is something strange in the hood. Oh, my bad it's just Michael Jackson.

He is making headlines again but this time it's not for buying off little boys, it's for buying Eminem! Well, not exactly, but the King of WEIRD is back and acquiring new music catalogues in a business venture as co-owner of Sony/ATV. (Guess he wants to start fresh after the Beatles one didn't turn out so well).

Jackson and his company now have control over 125,000 songs and themes acquired from Famous Music LLC. The catalogue is a diverse collection of oldies, movie themes and recent top hits from artists that include, Eminem, Shakira and Bjork. Let's just hope he takes that tight grip he has on the youth of America and applies it to this new addition.

This new mixtape features new music from Kanye off of his upcoming studio album as well as some unreleased cuts and freestyles and some tracks from Common.

Marlon Williams better known as Marley Marl suffered a heart attack yesterday, June 5th 2006. He is in stable condition and is currently staying in a New York hospital.

Marley Marl is an influential hip-hop producer and house producer of the Juice Crew. The Juice Crew included Big Daddy Kane, Biz Markie, Roxanne Shante, Kool G Rap, MC Shan and Masta Ace.

He is known for the Bridge Wars, a feud between himself and Boogie Down Production. That beef went down in hip hop history as the first beef in the industry.

Marley Marl is the super producer behind some of the biggest songs in hip hop, including "My Melody" and "Eric B Is President".

The Mixtapekings family is wishing Marley Marl a speedy recovery.

Get ready to live free or DIE HARD, baby. John McClane is back to reprise the role that made him a rock star....wait...I mean movie star. So, what's the deal with the forth installment? Well this time around, John McClane is no longer a police detective and has finally gotten a divorce from "HOLLY!!!" He also managed to get a job at Homeland Security.

After undertaking a routine arrest it is revealed that an internet terrorist organization is going to "systematically" shut down the world ...or America (OH MY GOD!). The "genius" behind this sinister plot has apparently figured out EVERY "digital angle" to make this plan work and prevent anyone from stopping him take down the United States. Of course he didn't plan on smart ass John McClane to come and wreck his little party.

As always accept tons of explosions, action, good guy beating the crap out of bad guy, good guy winning and of course "YIPPEE KI YA MOTHER FUCKER!"

Remember minority report a few years back? Where Mr. Cruise got all hi-techy with all those motion computers and we were all like "Holy Crap....that's crazy!" Well of course Mr. Bill Gates and his team of super nerds had to make it a fact of life and dubbed it Project Milan (...lord knows why)

Microsoft has created a super computer that will track you down and KILL YOU in your sleep! Just kidding. The first in a series of surface computers; I know you're like, "what the hell is a surface computer?" In simplest terms: it only needs human touch to input data, instead of a mouse or keyboard. How does it do this? Well thanks to highly sensitive cameras that sense movement, objects and touch...duh.

One of the coolest things about this technology is it's effectiveness to interact with other devices: take a picture with your digi-cam, place on top of the surface of the computer and it will receive the data from the camera and the picture will appear on the screen. You can also transfer the picture from the computer which came from the camera to your cell phone by just placing your phone on top the surface....so now you got all your pics in your cell phone from the computer (all with out annoying cables....yah!).

Like painting? Well just dip you're your fingers into virtual paint and create your very own works of art with no messy clean up...but with five years in the making this super computer will cost most of us five years worth of salary (not really but its A LOT) Slated to cost over $10,000 a pop...your kid doesn't really NEED to go to college right NOW, when you can acquire the coolest table/super-computer/ nerd magnet EVER.

But if you decide to wait for a cheaper model (yeah right) you will be able to find Project Milan at Sheraton & Harrah's hotels as well as certain T-mobile stores.

Great all we need now is for I-Robot to come true.

I'm always hyped to hear more females spittin' mean verses alongside the big boys..and this mixtape makes sure to showcase female artists.

Unfortunately, this is something that is all too rare in the mixtape game, unless, of course the girl is singing a hook, which, we don't mind either. But it's always refreshing to see females embody the skill of emceeing.

Dreamlife/Atlantic Records has linked up with Mick Boogie to provide the official mixed sampler for the hottest artist in the Midwest... Al Fatz.

Backed by Lebron James and the Dreamlife movement, Al represents the new sound coming out of Cleveland and the Midwest.

Says Rich Paul, CEO of Dreamlife and partner in LRMR, the marketing arm for Lebron: "This sampler gives people an example of what's next to come out of Cleveland... Al Fatz has the swag of a Notorious BIG with harmonizing vocals of a Nelly... Its something special...and who better to put it together than Mick Boogie?"

This online project also marks the official debut of Lebron's new fan-chosen Sprite theme song, "Main Attraction," starring Al Fatz and Paul Wall with production by Perrion. "To have a theme song created by the fans of Sprite and the NBA is a real honor," said Lebron. "The online world offers so many new and exciting ways for all of us to communicate and express ourselves."

I see the "mash up" debate was in rare form this week on the internet. It's just a phrase but for those of you who want to know where I stand just look at what review section you're reading this in and then you'll know. To BLEND musical genres or anything musical for that matter takes skill and lots of it. When I think "mash up" I think of just throwing two different types of music together...hence the MASH. Does it take skill to MASH a potato? Hell no, any non paraplegic can mash a potato. Does it take skill to make an eleven course meal? Most def, and thats what each and every DJ on this project is serving up. The blend/mash up season is heating up.

Welcome to Chez Rapmullet...DJ Crazy Chris, DJ Swindle, Frank Lyon, Dub Floyd, DJ Unexpected, Chong Wizard and Ro Data...are our featured chefs that will be serving you a seven course meal today.

DJ Crazy Chris supplies the appetizer. Kool & The Gangstarr is the concept. I'm expecting some funky monotone on this section. Funky for Kool & The Gang and monotone for well you no Guru from Gangstarr. Something about "Dwyck" was just working for me. Guru's flow over these beats was lethal. I listened to this blend like 8 times back to back cause when the second beat comes in and the horns drop you're like "oh shit!"

DJ Swindle and Frank Lyon serve up the soup and salad...and by salad I mean that greenery people. Snoop and Curtis Mayfield just fit...like fat bitches and cup cakes, peanut butter and jelly. "G'd Up" got that dirty funk to it, like you been wearing the same draws for a couple days but you can still pull a bitch with ease. I got the actual instrumental to "Eddie You Should Know Better" too. Cats should've holler'd!

DJ Dub Floyd serving up the cat fish old school style with Leaders of the New School of Rock. Busta got a flow that should mesh well with any genre of music so Dub got a quality ingredient in that respect. "Touch of the Tiger" is fitting for Busta's flow of that track and Dub rides the highs and lows to perfection. Busta's ad libs on "What's It Gonna Smell Like? Teen Spirit?" were hilarious. I fucks with Nirvana so I can safely say Dub did them and Busta justice.

DJ Unexpected is serving up the meat and potato's, that shit to fill you up (no homo). I knew Unexpected was gonna go all out with the 80's joints but using Men Without Hats borders on musical mixtape genius. 8 to 5 someone tries to flip that sample he was using from "Saftey Dance". Speaking of "dance"..."It's a Coolie Dane Thing" should get at least half the free world dancing. Whoa, talk about some classic mixing.

DJ Chong Wizard and Ro-Data serve up BB King and UGK as the coffe and desert. Don't get it twisted tho cause aint' nothing sweat about this section. "The Trill Is Gone" people, not really tho but this is that head nod. The soul in the beats is undeniable, especially with "One Morning". Chong and Ro went in on the production. This is def how you want to end you meal.

It's just really good to see DJs working together man, letting the skills breathe and pushing the envelope of creativity. You may no like every single blend or mash up on here but I guarantee you find something you like and you will not hear it anywhere else in the world. And with that said...check please.

It's Mutha Fuckin' Ron O'Neil people, I'm back up in the Rapmullet Mixtape Movement bitches and snitches. Dimez and Chew thanks for leaving the door open, I'm 'bout to kick that shit wide open and put these cave bitch fucking DJs in their place.

For those that care or even if you don't care, I was away on an up North Trip. It's nothing but a chicken wing on a string, right? OK, more like soap on a rope; nothing nice about the penitentiary at all. I had Chew send me all four CDs from Teknikz' Georgia Power series so I could get caught up and do this shit proper like. Considering the title and fresh off listening to all the CDs its safe to say DJ Teknikz is making "power" moves, excuse me if I'm late to the party.

It's easy to see why T.I. is the king of the South. Yea, I said it: KING OF THE SOUTH. I'm looking at the latest mixtape releases for the South and this is the only mixtape I see truly reppin' for Grand Hustle right now. Where Drama at? Teknikz is knocking on that door man. Thing is, will they let him in or will he have to break the door down? While we're talking T.I., FELL OFF is the anthem for your ride. This track is smooth and got me ridding tough in the Cutlass. If you're not making anthems in 2007 then you will not survive 2007.

You know what compliments an anthem? Infectious beats with an even sicker hook. THAT'S RIGHT by Big Kuntry and T.I. has all those elements. I can't say I was ever familiar with Big Kuntry but I'm familiar with him now. What's even more impressive is the fact T.I and Grand Hustle have quality MCs on the roster and not some D list rappers from around the way who specialize in weed and gun carrying. Grand Hustle is one of the few "rapper" labels that have their shit together.

What do Cindy Lauper, Madonna, Britney Spears, Martha Stuart, Brooke Shields, Lindsay Lohan, Lucy, Paris Hilton, Sharon Stone, and Betty White have in common? They're all being compared to coke in Big Kuntry's version of BRITNEY SPEARS. I would have called the song CAVE BITCHES personally. Cave Bitches are only good for a couple things: transporting that white, sucking dick and for slapping around. It is a harsh reality for the white girl. Betty White can still get it.

This kid J.R. is bringing some energy to the table on PRIME TIME. I'm telling you man, Grand Hustle if on their game with the talent. It wouldn't be a Grand Hustle party without Mac Boney too. His freestyle was that gangsta shit personified while his skits added some comical flavor to the project.

I didn't hear as much Dj skills as I thought I would but in all honesty the shit wasn't necessary. The CD is a perfect representation of Grand Hustle in 2007. Teknikz got an ear for this shit 'fo real, I'm not even gonna front on him. The southern market for Djs right now is a little crowded so as long as Teknikz keeps swinging his elbows with projects like this his spot will be solidified for the years to come.

Zion (Felix Ortiz) has parted ways with his other half Lennox (a mutual agreement and on good terms) and he is not wasting any time moving forward. Ortiz started his own record label, Baby Records , for whom he is the headlining act and CEO. He is already working on projects for Arcangel and De La Ghettos' albums for 2007. Zion's biggest project to date is his highly anticipated album.

"Perfect Melody" is set for release worldwide tomorrow (June 5, 2007). The singles are already climbing the charts before it has even hit the stores which are only a sign of things to come for Zion. The album has a different sound and feel than the everyday mainstream reggaeton.

I have always been a fan of Zion y Lennox, but I have found a new love for the style and sound of his new solo vibe. The album has a much different sound and feel than the everyday mainstream reggaeton. The Way She Moves (featuring Akon) & Zun Da Da are taking over myspace pages and ipods everywhere (including mine!). "Perfect Melody" also features collabos with other major talents such as Play-N-Skillz, Cruz Martinez of the Kumbia Kings, De La Ghetto, Tony TunTun, and Akon. The combination of his smooth melodic voice, hot artists collabos and some hot new beats makes this album pure fuego.

Does this mean her porn is on sale? Maybe. Anyhow, last night after making a surprise visit to the MTV Movies award and getting dissed by Sarah Silverman (which was awesome, if you guys haven't seen it: http://www.mtv.com/overdrive/?id=1561562&vid=151702).

Paris with her head down (not in THAT way) went to her parent's house where they all escorted her to Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood a little after 11:30 p.m. on Sunday. Ms. Hilton will only spend 23 days out of her sentence due to "good behavior" (what the hell does that mean?!?!?...Oh wait, 'cuz she actually SHOWED up to court...my bad)

So she doesn't get her ass kicked by the general population, she has been placed in the "special needs" unit and will be the only one in her two-person cell (god forbid she share anything). Paris will get one hour to shower, go outside (even though I wouldn't advise her to do so) or watch TV and she will eat three meals a day (of crap).

This all began on September 7, 2006 when she was first arrested for drunk driving. On January 15, 2007 she was pulled over for driving with a suspended license and signed a document declaring how stupid she is for not knowing the rules of her probation (but I'm sure lots of people don't know these things) and finally on February 27, 2007 she was charged with violating her probation.

Moral of the story is: if you do dirt, you get dirt...even if it's for ONLY 23 days.

Sidebar: It's been reported that she has been dropped by her label, Warner Brothers Music. A rep. saying, "We are not expecting any new Paris Hilton material in the foreseeable future."(....tear)

Why is this Hot? 'Cuz rich people are NOT above the law.

Still looking pale ladies? Well before you hit the street don't scare everyone with your pasty-ass; put on some bronzer. Most of us swear by bronzer; it's a daily ritual like waking up in the morning, brushing our teeth, combing your hair, then put on your bronzer. It's the simplest pick me up next to mascara.

But be easy ladies. An over dose of this stuff could leave you looking like an over cooked chicken and that's not cute. And fella's if you see your woman trying to step out looking like this, please tell her to wipe her face. 'Cause you too will look like a fool with an over cooked chicken as your date. Bronzers are meant to give you a gentle sun kissed glow, that's ALL.

A favorite is Cargo's Big Bronzer; only a best selling, award-winning bronzer in an over-sized compact with a mirror. Feel free to put it on all over the place; Cargo formulated this product to be used on your body and face for a year round glow with none out that streaky business.

Why it is that Andre 3000 makes every song sound better? He spits a clever-ass verse on Young Jeezy's "White Girl" track and suddenly the song is upgraded to a musical piece worth listening to. I wish Kanye West would on that track and steal the spotlight. Plus, it'd well-fitting for Kanye to be featured on a song celebrating white chicks. Remember "Gold Digger" when he threatens you by leaving you for a white girl. And I quote:

"... But you stay right girl.
But when you get on,
He leave yo ass for a white girl."

In the scheme of things, Jeezy looked to put together an all-white female street team as a tactic to promote the single.

"For the first time in the rap game history, we finna get us a street team of nothing but pretty white girls to promote this single," Slick Pulla, a member of USDA said. "The blondes, the brunettes, the green eyes, the grey eyes, the red heads, the freckles, all that man."

As if it's an upgrade. No offense to my melanin-lacking chicas.

"Oh, my, god...look at her butt...It is so big. She looks like one of those rap guys' girlfriends...."

OMG....it's been over ten years since this hit exploded all over the place. But like a true man, Sir Mix-A-Lot felt he HAD to pay tribute to the "Bootie" and clearly his "anaconda don't want none unless you've got buns, Hun!" (LOL...sorry this is hilarious to me).

Mix-A-Lot dropped this single in 1992 to so much controversy that MTV was pressured to ban the video for some time. But with controversy comes fame; reaching the top spot in the Billboard charts for five weeks straight and won the rapper a Grammy in 93' for Best Rap Solo Performance. Safe to say the "X-rated" video (which my parents banned me from seeing) is pretty tame by today's standards.... (Sad isn't it?) Looking at the video now I think, "those girls have flat butts" (thanks Buffy).

This song has lives to spare and won't seem to quit. It's featured in over ten hit movies and countless television shows, and the term itself, "baby got back" is common langue. Not to mention it's also possibly the cause of today's "BIG Booty Business".

...I mean for a few grand you can buy one if you weren't blessed with it naturally or just eat lots of "Red beans and rice".

One of hip hop's rising stars, BloodRaw has teamed with down south's hottest DJ; DJ Chuck T. It's been a long road for this Florida native who after six years of incarceration decided to persue his dream as a rapper; and with skills to spare he is leaving his mark all over the place. Bloodraw is now signed to Young Jeezy's CTE (Corporate Thugz Entertainment) Records.

Combine BloodRaw's gifted lyricism with one of the top mixtape pushers DJ Chuck T (a former rapper with an eye for what's hot) and you got....not a mixtape but an underground album - Triple Beam Dreams.

The project was brought together through their manager C. Wakeley, and after months of grinding in the studio the talented duo has produced Triple Beam Dreams and is ready to bless the streets with guest appearance from Jeezy and Slick Pulla.

Packed with twenty-two innovative tracks this album is slated to become a classic.

Wait 'till I get my money riiiiiight! Kanye's done it again. I was fiendin' to get a hold of this song so that I can annoy everyone by putting it on repeat.

Tapemasters Inc. On-Air Collection Part 8 has the song plus other joints, perfect to play at all those BBQ's that the summer brings. The mixtape also features Eve new booty-shaking-inducing song "Tambourine". On-Air collection has all the songs that are blazing up the radio and other songs that aren't but should be.

The radio may be scared to play some innovative shit, but Tapemasters Inc On-Air Collection Part 7 fills that void.

Eighties babies rejoice! One of the cartoon favorites of your generation is going Hollywood and there is more than meets the eye!

"Transformers" are back and badder than ever with an all out digital extreme makeover
(...guess even cartoons need to change their appearance these days). Who else but the genius Steven Spielberg could make this cartoon classic into a 2007 real life action movie blockbuster? The movie is also directed by Michael Bay for DreamWorks and Paramount Pictures and the cast includes Josh Duhamel, Shia LaBeouf (Disturbia) , John Turturro and Jon Voight (Angelie Jolie's daddy).

The movie is not the only surprise in store for fans. Hasbro also revamped their action figure collection. These toys have come along way since 1984 (as have our hairdos). Prototypes for the new Transformer action figures are being shown at Toy Fair 2007. This is not the kind of toy we use to have. Damn, we would be happy if its legs bent without breaking. Not these bad boys.

The updated Transformer models include; Megatron and his lead henchman StarScream, who morphs into an F-15 Eagle and Optimus sidekick Bumblebee, who travels incognito as a Chevrolet Camaro. Aside from the cars, there's an animatronic Transformers Movie Ultimate Bumblebee, which plays tracks like Devo's "Whip It," the Optimus Prime Voice Changer Helmet (some of you can use it to call that ex in disguise), an Arm Blaster unleashing Nerf darts, a Cyber Stompin' Robot with monster sound effects and,the best of them all, the Mr. Potato Head Optimash Prime. We may not have had it this good when we were kids but we can relive the experience now.

Transformers, opens July 4th 2007 nationwide.

I love GOOD music. No really...I do. Devo Springsteen and his GOOD music family always bring music that's refreshing as the cool breeze on a hot, sweltering day.
Always ahead of the game, the team delivers a mixtape that fits the blueprint of a major album release by adding on exclusive footage of the team in the studio piecing together a masterpiece, as well as a bonus video of "Drive Slow (Remix) and a music video for "I Tried" by GLC, a track featured on the mixtape. The music videos are vibrant and flashy -like images ripped out of a magazine.

The marketing scheme on this joint is ill. Watch the behind the scenes footage and TRUST, you will be wanting a Bacardi Melon drink. Talk about product placement! A bottle of Bacardi Melon follows homeboy everywhere.

Devo, do you really like Bacardi that much? Or do they cut them checks accordingly to your taste. I aint mad...
