Huey: Not Just Another Southern Dance-Crazed Rapper
Staff Writer, Mixtapekings.com
Get a look into Huey's journal. His debut album, appropriately titled, "Notebook Paper" chronicles life in the St.Louis hood. From the parties (Pop, Lock & Drop it) to the heavy grind needed in order make it out the hood (When I Hustle featuring Lloyd), this album gives you a taste of each aspect of life, without the nasty aftertaste.
When Huey sings about hustling, he's being humble. In the game since the age of 15, Huey is now hustlin' hard with his own label, The Hitz Committee and his own artists, the Camp Boyz, a rap group that's soon to hit the scene. Huey is obviously working hard to garner respect.
The St.Louis native is reaching nationwide fame with the hit, Pop, Lock & Drop It, a song that got him signed to a major label. Although he hit the music scene with a catchy dance song, Huey is not another southern dance-crazed artist. Infact, much to my surprise Pop, Lock & Drop is the only dance track on the album. Huey reassured Mixtapekings.com that he's not letting the world pigeon-hole him as a Hip Hop dance artist.

I actually was privilaged enough to meet him at a hotel in Boston. Being a "honkey" from the Iron Range in MN, I had no clue who he was and it was awesome to chat with him and DJ Crystal (sorry if that's spelled wrong). Both of them were super nice and they definately changed my opinion of rappers and rap music. It's real music with a real message and should be taken seriously... Thanks Huey!!!!!!!
