Is R&B the new Lil Wayne when it comes to mixtapes? Honestly, think about it. You see all those mixtape DJs who are riding near the top of the game and you see how they drop their CDs in clusters and you know what? 80 % of the time those R&B titles move the most units...so I ask again...Is R&B the new Lil Wayne? To answer my own question...no it's not but it's starting to be. Wayne still moves frivilous units as you can see by the amout of "concepts" his name generates over and over again but R&B is on his ass. Watch all those Lil Wayne jockstrap wearing DJs switch it up to R&B by the summer time. 2Mello established his brand last year, his name is ringing bells, he's got awards under his belt and right now it's up to him to take it to that next level.
Ms Badu is strange lady, I still bump her first album tho and the joint "The Healer" is my shit so maybe she ain't so strange as long as the music stays consistiently good; I'm waiting for an MC flip that beat too. I fuck with "Flashing Lights" the song man but R.Kelly on the remix...not so much. The beat is still fly as fuck tho. "Naught" by Black Buddafly sounds like another joint that was a hit..can you name that tune? Listen closely...they jacked the whole flow of the song. JC is cool on "Go"...track is smooth and laid back. I don't usually mess with Jaheim but "Roster" was type decent. The analogy he used with the whole "roster" thing was kind of corny to me but he pulled it off somehow. Is it me or does Brandy sound like Janet Jackson now? "This Must Be Love" is not the wheel and not how I remember hearing Brandy. On the upside Keith Sweat is back with "Suga Suga". I actually had to rewind this one a few times. "Tell Me Why" is the best JC track on here to me. I can def hear this on the radio, chics should be eating this up too. That Ginuwine joint wasn't bad either...these cats really dropping some quality slow shit now.

You know what I heard on this 2Mello mixtape? I heard the confidence of a mixtape DJ who's hitting his stride with his whole formula, with his whole "mixtape" identity. It's got to be a good feeling too. Not too much left to say really except that for what 2Mello does the title of the mixtape is more than fitting.
