I'm just glad they didn't call this project "best of both worlds". Hahaha...seriously tho. Thank you. On one end, you have DJ Rhude, the quintessential DJ with his ear to the ground unearthing those rare jewels in the form of dope tracks that the masses need to hear. Then on the other end you have DJ 2Mello, combing the earth for the next R&B sensation who again needs to be heard by the masses. What do they both have in common you ask...they both break artist in their respective genres.
On Rhude's side of things, I'm fucking with Skyzoo's "Necessary Evils". You thought I was gonna say the Ransom feature or the Rakim joint with Lil Fame, and those are cool tracks, but Skyzoo got next. As the ever contradictory Nas once said..."it was written". Tell me Andre 3000 didn't lace "Royal Flush"? I dare you to say he didn't, and if the lyrics went over your head you are and forever will be a complete Moron...with a capital "M". The last joint off Rhudes set I need to highlight is Jon Hopes "The Rap Life". Again, no morons need apply to listen to this joint; all substance and lyrics and no filler. Jon Hope is the "Boars Head" of MCs while the rest of these so called Emcee's are all "Oscar Myer". (sorry for the food analogy, I'm hungry).

The king of the RnB Insider's didn't disappoint. Don't even think about using that title or you'll get hit with sock full of quarters and maybe even a TV. Couple of joints stand out to me. Teyana Taylor with Ali Vegas on the "Google Me" remix was fresh. I mean the "google" theme track has been done to death but this joint was kind of fly. Not to mention Ali Vegas laced his verse too. Lyfe Jennings has the new album coming out, don't think this remix with Wayne and T.I. is on it but the shit knocks none the less. The joint that is a true sleeper is the Fred Knuxx assisted "Some One Like You" by Mona Lisa. Mr. Knuxx stays with new product in the air and leave it to 2Mello to break it proper like.

A lot of times when DJs collaborate they hold back on the tracks, they don't give their best effort either. This project tho, for the time when it dropped, the two DJs didn't hold anything back. If you think about it and you know your history, mixtape DJs used to drop with side A on that fresh off the block music and side B was the R&B. Considering how tracks get used up so quick the formula used here is a winner. We'll see if the series keeps going but best believe someone will run with the formula.
