You can tell Rhude is a student of the mixtape game. There was a time when a season would pass or a block buster movie wouldn't drop without a mixtape DJ not using it as a spring board for a new project. Think about it. Everyone knew GTA 4 was going to be the biggest video game release of the year and from what I've seen only Rhude and Big Mike have capitalized on it. Rhude with the more creative effort using a main character to "host" his project. Block Muzik is an entity now...see what happens when you play good muzik consistently?
Niko Bellic got some lines, shit is funny and gangsta. Same with Styles P on "What's The Problem". That's that crawl thru your hood music. You had to have heard "From Now Till Then" remix. Big Lou and Crooked I both set the booth a blaze. Lou said:"I'm so hood tell T-Pain fuck a chorus"...hahaha. And Crooked I said: "he crashed into so much time he don't like clocks"...damn. Chosen Few making the mixtape round, coming up on "Murda Raps" with Uncle Murda. The word play was proper too.  I fuck with Roccet's bars on "G Move" but that hook...not so much. Big Lou staying true to his content on the more commercial sounding "House Party". Donny Goines sounding as focused as ever on "What U Expected". Statik on the beat with cuts just as focused. Rhude's foundation on the next five MCs: Rekz, Illa Ghee, Big Lou, Sic Osyrus and Ransom...of course. I cant' forget that knocking joint with Evil Eye and Willie Maze..."Money Comes & Goes".

Whether cats want to admit it or not a DJs mixtape is a direct reflection of their personality. You can tell, or at least I can, when shit is bland and has no feeling that's a DJ just putting something out to keep the name fresh or to keep some bread flowing in their direction. Rhude is a DJ you connect with on every release and its all a direct relation to the music he plays. There's no pay for play, there's no play a song cause every one else is playing it. Its just the love of good hip hop musik as heard thru the ears of DJ Rhude.
