November 2008 Archives

Did you feel that last week people? That was DJs with their balls up in their throats scared to drop a new mixtape.  Did I miss the memo; Lil Wayne is the Frank White of mixtapes now? Ya'll scared. Damn. Drama's a better person than me cause if it was me who Wayne made those comments about and I got up in the studio with dude to make a mixtape...I'm breaking his nose on principal alone. Politics goes out the window with me.

Man, Teknikz has come along way since the first installment I heard of this mixtape series years ago. The streets of the south wouldn't be the same without him, real talk. He's the epitome of a DJ establishing relationships with artists early and pushing them to the streets. While the "compilation" type of mixtapes are dying a slow death it's DJs like Teknikz who still get those songs ain't no one got and it's all because of what I mentioned above...relationships. Looks like someone was sippin' the right kool-aid over the years.

Ya'll hear that shit? That's Whoo Kid shaking the dust off that finger he uses to push the buttons on the G Unit mixtapes, because some of those muthafuckas been suspect lately. I know the boo birds are waiting to jump on your boy and mention "Return of The PLK", but I don't give a fuck, that Yayo shit was wipe your ass material. That "Pow Radio" series is the type that started out as something you had to cop, to a series that mixtape spots are debuting in the 4th fucking row! I know all record sales are down, but the G Unit machine isn't the same animal it was a few years ago and although muthafuckas may be rich beyond belief, the music is what moves me and "Halloween Havoc" got me open.
Hevehitta and DJ Unexpected get no sleep and make it hard for other mixtape duos to sleep. When you wake up, theres a new tape. We've seen many kings throughout the year but I don't think any of them stand up to the Aftermath Kings. We've all hear about Detox, a new Eminem album, and the "Before I Self Destruct" 50 album. Well this year seems to be the starting point with December marking 50's supposed final album. Then into 2009, Eminem plans "Relapse" for early release. Soon after, hopefully, the myth that is "Detox" is scheduled to drop. If you want to have a future....you need to know your past. That's what Hevehitta & DJ Unexpected have done here. Before we can rise into the most anticipated albums perhaps of all time, we take a trip to the past.
Everyone's favorite Uncle is back with a new mixtape. He's got many aliases, my personal favorite is aka, "you might find my dick in ya baby mom's mouth"...classic.
This is one of my favorite mixtape series in the last few years. Blazita does her thing with each release. The joints are kind of random but it's all good music. Some tracks slept on jewels and def joints you haven't heard in a minute. She's giving you that classic Rap & Bullshit from the 90's thru the last few years.
