don_cannon_jeezy-trap_or_die_2-300.gifWait No Longer, "Trap or Die 2" is finally here! Young Jeezy and Don Cannon are bringing you an audio visual of every hood in America and beyond. This is Dboy life, this is the heart of what makes a Trap Star. 50 was determined to "Get Rich Or Die Tryin" and he did so. Now its Jeezy's turn at bat. You know his history. Listen as he speaks to everyone who's felt there wasn't a way out.

don-cannon-news.jpgWith Young Jeezy getting ready to release the sequel to his seminal Trap or Die mixtape this week, XXLMag.com chopped it up with the host of the project, DJ/producer Don Cannon, to get all the pertinent details.

Cannon's former Aphilliates partner DJ Drama, who helmed the original mixtape, was initially supposed to host Trap or Die 2. But according to Cannon--who left the Aphilliates in 2008--a scheduling conflict prevented Drama from handling the project. "I think there was time constraints," he said.

"And Jeezy wanted to have it put out pretty quickly because it's [part] of the promo of the album."

T.I.T.S (Two In The Shirt) is excited to announce the second release from its latest collaboration with Seattle's emerging hip-hop group DYME DEF. The "Wet Dreams promo video" is the second release from their highly anticipated project, "Sex Tape" due to drop June 1st, 2010.

"We wanted to show people the idea of taking a song and turning it into a shirt collaboration.  From the time we heard the song we knew this would a classic T.I.T.S. shirt" says owner Marek Grubel.  "It was great to be able to be on set for the video and see everything come together.  These guys are thirsty and are putting in the time that is needed to have a long successful career."

From the start of the "Wet Dreams" collab T.I.T.S. and 800lb decided that they wanted everything done in house for this video.  "From using the T.I.T.S. warehouse to the actual staff we wanted to show that this was a collab on both ends," says 800lb founder Josh Berman. "This was also a great way for us to say thanks to the fans by showing them inside the T.I.T.S. home and to the staff for all the hard work they have done in supporting our vision."
rana-june-260.jpgDJs still need expensive solutions like Serato and a truckload of equipment to get their game on, or can they please a crowd using only two Apple iPads and off-the-shelf App Store apps? That's what Rana June Sobhany is exploring to great effect with her Destroy the Silence project.

Editor's Note:

Below is an out-of-print interview with Keith "Guru" Elam. Upon learning about Guru's untimely death Monday, HipHopDX writer Adisa Banjoko provided us with this 1991 relic to Gang Starr fans and Hip Hop culture. Initially conducted for Black Panther newspaper The Commemorator, the piece spent over a decade on cassette tape until appearing in Banjoko's self-published, now out-of-print Lyrical Swords Volume 2 book.

Sitting next to Gang Starr partner DJ Premier, Guru and Banjoko's '91 conversation took place during San Francisco's Galvin Convention, on the steps of radio station KPOO. Also present for this interview were KRS-One, Young Black Teenagers and famed engineer Sam Sever. Although additional information remains unknown at this time, the conversation took place shortly after Gang Starr's January, 1991 release of their acclaimed sophomore album, Step Into The Arena.
