Nothing like starting a Monday morning off with some block music. You
know that shit that's all blunt shavings and pissy project stairways.
Maybe a dirty mattress outside in the alley. Lust, Diggz and
Mike...what else you expect? The title says civil war but in this
mixtape game right now it's every man for himself.

Ahhh man is that DJ Lust back at it again? Good to hear his voice again, one of the best to do it vocally on some mixtape shit. I don't give a fuck what anyone says. We know what Diggz does so this is that heavy east coast with a sprinkle of cocaine and some pills for the bitches. Hahaha.

All you fake ass mixtape fans need to break yo self and cop you a DJ Rhude mixtape. Ya'll quick to cop a mixtape with a pretty cover and a big as turd of a mixtape on the actual CD. Stop thinking you know everything and let a DJ with a good ass ear for music put you on to what truly is "good music".

No DJ does a "best of" project like the one they call J. Period. It's that audio/mixing documentary mixtape style that separates J. Period from the pack. Let me put you up on something real quick too. Very rarely do you get a classic mixtape that is void of any type of skill, so to all you "marketing and promotion" ass DJs who think that's all you need to do "while moving units" your shit will never be classic. This project right here is what you get when you combine "skill" with that "marketing and promotion"...classic.

The second classic mixtape of 2009 people is here. While everyone has
been complaining about the lack of blends Egg Nice solidifies his spot
in mixtape history. One of only a handful of DJs who consistently comes
with a concept and skillful ass blends each and every release. This
time out the box its Jay Z over Kanye's beats and of course some Kanye
too. Mos Def, Lupe and Nas make appearences but it's Jay-Z getting the
most shine.

Mixtapes worst nightmare is back in the Rapmullet building. Dub Floyd
does it for Hip Hop and the rest just falls into place. I wish it was
that simple but it never is. Cats gotta put in work, work and more
work. That's exactly what Mr. Floyd has been doing. This project right
here is all about Ludacris, Nas and Jay-Z, some of that classic Dub
Floyd mixing and a whole lotta hip hop.

This is quality hip hop music right now. Its not gimmicks or wack lyics
or dances or overly swag-ful rhyming. Straight raw rhyming over neck
brace required beats is what you get with every Block Muzik release.
Not only that its east coast heavy and lord knows the east needs all
the help it can get.

Probably the best concept on an artist mixtape so far this year, as short as it's been. Straight off the Red and Meth tour Term drops a jewel...literally...in this mixtape. I don't claim to be the biggest J Dilla fan but he had his moments. Thing is after listening to this a few times Termanology sounds fly as hell over his production so I'm probably even more of a fan of his sound now. Def a dope way to make a tribute to the mans work.

Who said good music wasn't made in 2008? I don't know what ya'll been listening too but if it's good it's on an All Elements mixtape. Volume 10 is supposed to be a big deal so if you don't go all out, you might as well switch your style up and become aerobic instructors or some shit. For J-Ronin's sakes, he will not be running stair stepping classes anytime soon. One of the last cats getting true exclusives (tru-xclusives), in the studio with the artist making it happen.

Did you feel that last week people? That was DJs with their balls up in
their throats scared to drop a new mixtape. Did I miss the memo; Lil
Wayne is the Frank White of mixtapes now? Ya'll scared. Damn. Drama's a
better person than me cause if it was me who Wayne made those comments
about and I got up in the studio with dude to make a mixtape...I'm
breaking his nose on principal alone. Politics goes out the window with
me.
