About

Preserving and pushing mixtape culture forward since 2002.

The Mixtape Experience, Since 2002

Founded in 2002, mixtapekings.com revolutionized how the world experienced mixtape culture, connecting DJ pioneers, artists, and fans to the heartbeat of hip-hop. Over two decades later, our mission remains unchanged: we're still dedicated to celebrating the art form that has shaped music history. But we're evolving with the times.

Today, mixtapes aren't just cassettes passed hand-to-hand on city blocks. They're playlist culture, SoundCloud drops, and collaborative projects that span continents. The medium has transformed, but the spirit remains: raw talent, creative freedom, and cultural authenticity.

Bridging Generations

We exist at the intersection of reverence and innovation. We educate new generations about the DJs and mixtapes that built hip-hop culture, while celebrating how today's artists carry that torch forward. Whether it's a 1990s DJ Clue classic or a 2025 streaming project, we recognize mixtape culture in all its forms.

The new generation discovers music differently, but the hunger for authenticity hasn't changed. We're here to show how the mixtape ethos, breaking new artists, creative mixing, and cultural commentary, lives on in modern music. From SoundCloud loosies to official playlist albums.

All Fans Welcome

Hip-hop didn't start in the boardroom. It started on the streets, in the parks, on the tapes. We're here to make sure that spirit never dies.
